Academic-Industrial Alliance Konami works with UNLV to support the development of the Gaming Industry

KONAMI has decided to donate $2.5 million*to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), in the hope of supporting further development of the gaming industry. This donation follows the $1million donation made in 2010.

The $2.5 million donation will be used for the construction of a new building, Hospitality Hall (provisional name), scheduled to be completed in 2017. The building will be used by the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, an institution with a strong track record of educating notable persons in the field of hospitality, including gaming, tourism, and hotels.

UNLV is a state-run university established in 1957. Led by Bo Bernhard, Ph.D., top researcher and educator in the field of gaming, the International Gaming Institute (IGI) conducts research and provides education on the various aspects of gaming.

The IGI laboratory, located within the university and built to resemble a casino hall, is named KONAMI Gaming Laboratory. The laboratory is used to educate the future leaders of the gaming industry, providing classes ranging from casino business to pathological gambling.

The Konami Group holds gaming licenses in over 400 locations across the world. We produce, sell and provide various casino machine services to global casino markets including the U.S., Australia, and South East Asia.

KONAMI will continue its efforts to support the healthy development of the gaming industry.
